The Oakbrook Terrace Fitness Center was built in 1991 with three parties coming together to develop a 15,000 square foot facility located at 1 Parkview Plaza in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. The three parties were the City of Oakbrook Terrace, Trammel Crow Co., and the Oakbrook Terrace Park District. Terrace View Park was also developed along with the fitness center at that time. Terrace View Park can be viewed from the lounge and cardiovascular areas of the fitness center. The development of the fitness center provides the community with a facility that offers fitness opportunities for everyone.
In 1998 the fitness center underwent a renovation process that increased the size of the cardiovascular and weight rooms by eliminating two of its original five racquetball courts. Along with this increased space, an additional 1,600 square feet was added by building a second floor group fitness studio.
The facility is now 16,600 square feet with two racquetball courts, a group fitness studio, a 1,600 square foot weight room, 600 square foot cardiovascular room, 4,200 square foot gymnasium, 800 square foot functional training room, lounge area, and locker rooms with shower facilities. The equipment that is contained within the cardiovascular and weight room are from Cybex, Body Master, Icarian, Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, Star Track, True and many others. We provide our members with the best equipment available to keep us competitive with other centers while offering our community members the opportunity to have access to such equipment at a very reasonable membership rate.
