TITLE: Rental Attendant

CATEGORY: Part-time

SALARY: $15 per hour

SUMMARY: The Rental Attendant is responsible for front line customer service. The Rental Attendant oversees the on-site management of rentals, as well as the organization and sanitization of all rental spaces and public spaces used during a rental. The Rental Attendant is a part time employee working no more than 20 hours per week. This position works a regular rental shift on Sundays from 7:45am-1:00pm, as well as other night and weekend rental shifts and special events as they become available. Work pace is moderate to active depending on the task required. This position requires you to be on your feet and able to lift approximately 50 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS: The Rental Attendant should have at least 1 year in a customer service-related position. The Rental Attendant must have a high school diploma (or equivalent). 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: The Rental Attendant is under the supervision of the Registration Clerk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                                                        
1. Greet all patrons, members, and participants in a professional and courteous manner as they enter the Heritage Center. 
2. Open building before renters arrive.
3. Assist rental patrons with facility needs.
4. Perform building sweep to ensure all patrons have exited the facility. 
5. Close and lock building after rentals have concluded.  
6. Clean and wipe down rental spaces and public spaces, including chairs, tables, counter tops, door handles, restrooms, and other high touch surfaces at the conclusion of each rental.
7. Perform basic maintenance such as emptying and taking out trash, cleaning floors, dusting, etc. at the conclusion of each rental.
8. Answer all patron questions or direct the patron to the appropriate person for the question to be answered. All of this is to be done in a professional and courteous manner.  
9. Assist other team members with participating in and preparing for Special Events.
10. Knowledge of Park District policies and procedures.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAITS:
1. Excellent customer service skills (internal and external customers).
2. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
3. Work well with all departments and personalities.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Have a basic knowledge of all programs, special events, and memberships or know how and where to obtain the information. 
2. Assist all employees of the Park District as needed. 

PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS: The Rental Attendant may feel added pressure from the volume of calls, walk in requests, questions about programs, special events and general Park District information. The Rental Attendant must remain calm and continually share Park District information with patrons.

PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS: The Rental Attendant must be able to bend, stoop, lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, turn, sit, and stand for short or extended periods of time.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS: The Rental Attendant may be exposed to elements when assisting with outdoor functions. Most activities are performed indoors; the outdoor conditions may include lighting and extreme temperatures.  

COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS: The Rental Attendant must exhibit good problem-solving ability and good judgment in keeping with the mission of the Park District. 

The Rental Attendant must be in compliance with the loss prevention and safety policies of the Park District.
