Oakbrook Terrace Park District is excited to announce the completion of the northern section of the Pedestrian Walk/Bike Way.
The newest section of the Walk/Bike Way begins at Ardmore Ave. in front of the Heritage Center, heads south through a wooded area to Butterfield Road, then follows Butterfield Rd. to the intersection with Myrtle Ave. This section is just over ¾ mile long, and is surfaced with asphalt and striped for two-way traffic.
The southern stretch of the Walk/Bike Way connects Terrace View Park, home to the Lake View Nature Center and the Fitness Center, with Dorothy Drennon Park—a distance of approximately ½ mile.
The two sections are connected by traversing a short stretch of Macarthur Street with a stoplight protected crossing at Butterfield Rd.
A map showing the Pedestrian Walk/Bike Way can be seen on the Locations and Hours page.
