Lake View Nature Center

The Lake View Nature Center is home to engaging and educational nature programs! In addition, you can book a nature themed birthday party or group outing with us! The Lake View Nature Center is committed to providing a positive experience to all of our guests. Contact us at 630-941-8747 with program questions or to book a group or birthday party.

Parking Information

Our small lot (ten spaces plus one van-accessible handicapped spot) fills up quickly. Parking along the west side of the access drive from Hodges Rd. is allowed but please keep close to the curb to keep the drive open. No parking along east side of access drive or parking area. Street parking is not allowed on Hodges Rd. but additional parking is available around the corner on Monterey Ave. Be sure to keep your tires on the gravel as the police will ticket if they are touching the grass. Also please respect our neighbors. We do not have permission to park in the Destination Maternity/Bedding Experts or Service Graphics lots. For large gtoups, parking is available in the lower level of the 1 Parkview Plaza building near the Oakbrook Terrace Park District Fitness Center. The entrance is on 22nd street (same light as REI). Jog to the right as you enter and go down the ramp. Access to Terrace View Park and the Nature Center is through the Fitness Center or a door near the baseball field.

After School Animal Adventures

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - 4:00pm to Wednesday, February 7, 2018 - 5:30pm

Your child can enjoy adventures with our animal subjects in the after-school version of our popular series. Children will discover facts and features of a different animal through art, exploration and inquiry. Dress your child in weather appropriate clothing. Program begins on Wednesday, January 17 thru February 7, 2018 from 4pm-5:30pm. Ages for the program are 6-10 years old. Cost of the program is $48. Animal Adventures

Tuesday, January 16, 2018 - 9:00am to Tuesday, February 6, 2018 - 11:00am

Children will learn facts and features of an animal each week. Discover more about our animals through stories, role play and creative exercises. Dress your child in weather appropriate clothing. Program starts on January 16 from 9am-11am. Ages: 4-6 years old (thru Kindergarten) Cost of the program is $64. Registration deadline is January 9. Preschool Palooza!

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 - 11:45am

The Villa Park Library brings story time to the OBTPD, delivering a mix of stories, songs, and movement geared for young children exploring their world. This program is open to children ages 3 – 5 with an adult and will be held at the OBTPD’s Heritage Center located at 1S325 Ardmore Ave in Villa Park. Registration is not required.
