Nature Center Summer Mini Camps!
The Lake View Nature Center, located by the pond at Terrace View Park, is a unique location for children to enjoy summer camp fun. These short-term camps are perfect for families that need their summer to be flexible and also for children with specialized interests.
Lil' Buggers Mini Camp
Children will learn about our many legged friends that creep and crawl with live animal investigations, crafts and stories. Campers will spend time outside to see if they can find any creepy crawlies in the wild.

Nature Safari Mini Camp
Take a trip to the wild terrain of Terrace View Park and spot exciting native wildlife. Your child will learn about local creatures and explore our urban jungle through hands-on activities, stories, and crafts. Campers will also learn some fun exploration skills, so please send them dressed for outdoor adventures.

Survivor Mini Camp
If your child has the spirit of adventure, then this mini camp is for them! Campers will learn fun skills like shelter building, wayfinding, and starting a campfire. Children will finish camp with the knowledge of how to be a safe outdoorsman. We will be outside rain or shine, so have children dressed and ready.

Fishing Mini Camp
Our pond is stocked with fish, and we want to show your child how to catch them. Kids receive instruction on baiting a hook, tying knots, casting a line, and handling a fish for a safe return to the water. Kids will also learn about all sorts of swimming creatures at this fun-filled camp. For safety reasons, campers should come dressed in gym shoes or boots (no Crocs or sandels).

Green Thumb Mini Camp
Does your child have a love for all things in the garden? In this camp, children will learn about the growing cycle of plants and trees, and their role in nature. Each day they will take home a project with fun themes like pizza plants, and carnivorous gardens. Please dress your child in clothes that they can get dirty.

Learn with Us!
Toddlers with an adult will explore the wonders of nature through “loose parts” play. In this way, your little one can learn the joys of a natural play-scape that they create themselves, while learning teamwork and sharing skills. We provide materials, your child provides imagination! We will play outside each class, so please dress for the weather.
Age: 18 months-3 with adult

Children will learn interesting facts and fascinating features of a different animal each week. Your child will discover more about our animal subjects through stories, role play and creative exercises. They should dress for their adventures with the animals in weather appropriate clothing as we often will be outside.
Age: 4-6 (through kindergarten)

Connect your child to aspects of S.T.E.A.M. through fun (and possibly explosive) experiments as we explore the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! We will use critical thinking skills together to investigate these facets and their connection to the natural world.

Parents Night Out - Kids Fun Night!
Drop your kids off and enjoy a fun evening out - child free. Children will enjoy nature activities and games, meet animals, go on a hike (weather permitting), and have a pizza party. Craft time and story time will round out the night.

Open House Hours at the Nature Center
Would you like to learn more about the programs and events at the Nature Center? Do you want to come in and visit our animals? Check out our open houses as we offer fun nature-themed activities all day. Come to our open houses every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. No registration required and all ages are welcome.
